What it is that brought you here

I don't know exactly what the issue is that has brought you here, but it's probably an unwanted behaviour or emotional response that you experience in certain situations which, in some way, is preventing you from living your life in the way you want to live it.

The usual response to problems

Depending on your problem and the circumstances in which it arises, you've probably tried at least one, if not both, of these ways of dealing with it:

Ignore it and avoid situations where the problem might arise. This can work for a while but at some point it catches up with you and, at some level, the problem is always there.

Deal with it on a conscious level. This can include trying to resolve it by:

  • using conscious reasoning
  • trying to convince yourself you can get over it, stop doing it, start doing it, etc
  • seeking advice from people, books or other media
  • using will-power

You've probably even made some progress towards the resolution of your problem but my guess is that the change probably didn't last. Because no matter how much conscious reasoning, analysing, coaxing or ignoring you do, the problem somehow seems to stubbornly remain.

Emotional Hijacking

It's almost as if you become hijacked by those unwanted behaviours or emotions. In your problem situations, it might even seem as if everyone around you is behaving or reacting in what you would consider to be a 'normal' manner, while you feel like you're the only one who is fearful, self-conscious, panicking, feeling negative, or doing or feeling whatever your problem response is.

There's a reason why we experience these emotional hijackings. And it's also the reason why Cognitive Hypnotherapy is such a powerful technique for overcoming problems just like yours.

Most of the problems we experience have their roots at an un-conscious level, a level where your thought processes operate automatically and outside of your conscious awareness. With Cognitive Hypnotherapy, you can gain access to this unconscious level and quickly and easily change the thought patterns that underlie those unwanted behaviours and emotions and discover the freedom, confidence and motivation to get on with creating the life you want and deserve.

The Elephant and the Rider

There are two parts of the mind: the conscious mind (the small fraction of our experience that we are aware of) and the unconscious mind (everything else). Think about the mind as an elephant and its rider. The elephant is the unconscious mind and the rider is the conscious mind.

You can probably imagine that the rider doesn't have much control over the elephant but, fortunately, elephants are generally quite cooperative so most of the time all is well. But imagine if the elephant decides it wants to go in some direction that is entirely different to the direction in which the rider wants to go. Who's going to be in control then? And who's going to be left feeling like they've been hijacked?

Now imagine the time when you have resolved that problem. Think about all the differences that having resolved that problem will make to the other areas of your life.
 

  • How will you feel differently?
  • What will you be doing that you can't or don't do now?
  • What will be the benefits to your family life, to your social life?
  • What will be the positive effects on your career?
  • How much more confidence and self-esteem will you have?
  • How many more opportunities will be available to you?
  • How much better will your health be?
  • How much better will you feel?
